Respite Care at Rebecca House
Respite care is invaluable for children and young people from birth to 18 who are living with a life-limiting illness. By sharing the responsibility of care and working flexibly alongside families, we provide parents and carers with the chance to rest, recharge, and take some much-needed time for themselves, knowing their child is in safe hands.
Our respite care is designed to be flexible and accommodating, giving families the opportunity to rest or spend quality time together, whether that’s enjoying activities with their other children or simply taking a break from daily care routines.
We operate a fair resource allocation system to ensure respite is offered according to each family’s needs. We also provide an SOS service, offering additional respite for families in crisis, such as illness of another sibling or family member. While we strive to meet every emergency, this depends on immediate staff availability.

Children’s Hospice at Home
At Rebecca House, we are deeply committed to caring for children and families in the place that feels most comforting and familiar to them. We understand that every family’s needs are unique, which is why we offer the option for regular respite care to be provided in the comfort of home, allowing families to maintain their routines and surroundings.
When a child’s needs require end-of-life care, our compassionate team is there to support families every step of the way. Qualified nurses and nursery nurses provide care tailored to each child and family, ensuring dignity, comfort, and emotional support in a familiar and loving environment.
Supporting Families Together
Around three times a year, we host a special sibling day, which might include a fun sleepover at Rebecca House or an exciting day out.
These events give siblings the chance to connect with staff, spend time with other children in similar situations, and simply have fun in a safe and supportive environment.
We also hold parent evenings up to three times a year, often with themed activities, hosted at Rebecca House. These evenings provide parents with a relaxed and welcoming space to unwind, share experiences, and connect with other families.
