End of Life Care at Rebecca House
At Rebecca House Children’s Hospice, we provide compassionate end of life care for babies, children and young people living with life‑limiting and life‑threatening conditions. We understand how overwhelming this time can feel for families. Our role is to offer comfort, choice and support, ensuring no family feels alone during their child’s final journey.
Choice about where care is provided
End of life care can be provided at Rebecca House, at home, or in hospital, depending on what feels right for the child and their family. If end of life care is needed at Rebecca House, we can open 24 hours a day to support the child and their family throughout their stay. Families are welcome to spend as much time together as they wish, in a peaceful, homely setting.
Care focused on comfort and dignity
Our experienced team works closely with families and healthcare professionals to manage pain and symptoms, helping children feel as comfortable and settled as possible.
Care is always centred around the individual child and their family, respecting personal wishes, beliefs and needs. We aim to create a calm, supportive environment where families feel listened to and cared for.
We also give support to the whole family. Our care extends beyond the child. We support parents, siblings and loved ones emotionally and practically, both during end of life care and after a child has died. Bereavement support is available to families in the days, weeks and months following their loss, ensuring ongoing care when it is needed most.
