What We Do: The Hospice Journey

Understanding hospice care

Our palliative care aims to improve the quality of life of patients and their families who are facing challenges associated with life limiting illness. Our holistic care philosophy offers physical, emotional and practical support at any point after a life-limiting diagnosis.

There are fundamentally three components to our palliative care offering:

Symptom Management

Symptom management focuses on relieving physical and emotional pressures for patients living with life limiting illness. The ultimate aim is to improve quality of life for patients once their curative treatments have ceased.

Terminal Care

Hospice care focuses on comfort, dignity, and compassionate support. Expert teams manage symptoms, ease distress, and provide reassurance to both patients and those close to them. Hospice professionals help people feel comfortable, safe, respected, and supported when it matters most.

Emotional Support

Our Emotional Support Service offers compassionate, holistic support for patients and their loved ones. Delivered by trained volunteers and professionals, it provides emotional, psychological, spiritual, and practical guidance. The service helps people feel understood, supported, and less alone during challenging and uncertain times.

Compassion and care through community support

For more than four decades, families across the Isle of Man have trusted us for care, comfort, and guidance. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, we’re able to continue providing all our services completely free of charge.

Wills and Legacies

Help hospice care live on

In years to come, a gift left in your Will could make a big difference to the patients and families cared for by Hospice Isle of Man, helping them to make the most of their remaining time together. Your legacy could help ensure care at the end of life is here for everyone who needs it, both now and in the future.

You don’t need to be wealthy to make a difference. Many supporters choose to leave a small percentage of their estate after taking care of loved ones.
