Founded in 1983 by Nadene Crowther, MBE, Hospice Isle of Man has steadily grown to become a vital and cherished part of Island life. For over 40 years, we have had the immense privilege of supporting thousands of patients and the people who matter most to them.

We are dedicated to providing specialist palliative and end-of-life care for individuals living with terminal or life-limiting conditions, always placing dignity and comfort at the heart of everything we do.

We believe everyone deserves access to outstanding care without financial worry, which is why our services are provided entirely free of charge. Our dedicated teams are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, delivering care wherever it is needed most—whether that is within our welcoming In Patient Unit, out in the local community or in the comfort of a patient's own home.

Alongside expert clinical care, we support physical, emotional, social and spiritual wellbeing, ensuring compassionate, personalised care at every stage of life.

Pie chart showing breakdown of how Hospice Isle of Man is funded

How we are funded

In 2026, it will cost us £7.5 million to deliver our specialist palliative and end of life care across the Isle of Man.

Funding from the Isle of Man Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) will cover around 25% of our annual running costs, meaning we must raise the remaining funding through fundraising, donations, and community support. We work closely with the DHSC to ensure our services complement existing provision.

By coming together as a community, we can continue to provide all of our care completely free of charge to patients and the people who matter most to them, and you can play a vital part in making this possible.

This chart shows how our funding comes together, from the DHSC, to community donations and other income streams, highlighting the crucial role our supporters play in keeping care free for everyone who needs it.

73% of Hospice revenues is expected to come from the community in 2026
