Course Content

Important conversations can occur anywhere, with anybody, and this course will provide an opportunity to identify the key skills needed and to learn how to use them. 

  • How to prepare for significant conversations and why this is important

  • The importance of acknowledging the feelings that these conversations can present

  • How to close these conversations kindly and with an agreed way forward

  • Recognise what is “bad news”

  • Utilise a range of skills to improve communication, empathy, questioning skills, listening skills

  • To apply the communication models in their workplace

  • Recognise your own reactions, protecting yourself & prioritizing self-care

  • Using models of communication as evidence base

This course also incorporates elements of Breaking Bad News and Difficult conversations.
